One of the things I love about going on a real estate broker's tour with several other agents from our office is that we each look at the homes with different “glasses.” I'm always looking for homes that offer great aging in place options (like the grab bar in the photo) or older homes with a sweet history. One of the other agents is always on the look out for homes that an investor would appreciate. A second always has the viewpoint of his clients' sports interests. And a third loves both the intriguing kitchens AND the food they often serve for our broker's tours. Yummy!
This week, all of us were in seventh heaven over the food AND the homes. There were delicious panini sandwiches being freshly cooked in a gorgeous kitchen at one home that several of my co-agents were thrilled by. I headed straight for the gorgeous chocolate brownies in the home with the even more gorgeous library that I would give my eyeteeth for!!!!
Some of the other highlights from today's tour included:
Two homes with grand water views. That is something I NEVER get tired of seeing! It is so beautiful and relaxing to just stand there in your own home (I wish 🙂 ) and enjoy the beauty of the serene water scene in front of you!
I spotted two homes with separate work areas – one an unfinished shop with 256 square feet – my sons-in-law would ALL love that; the other a little “doll house” with a sink – perfect for a REALTOR, a writer, a quilter, a model train enthusiast, etc. Not to mention a fun play house for kids or grandkids!
I love it when I visit a home that already has a home inspection completed for the property and all necessary repairs done, don't you? Yup, one of the larger homes offered that along with a multi-year roof certification. Definitely a smart seller!
Speaking of investors, I looked at one gorgeous home with an awesome view and the opportunity to buy a lovely home AND the adjoining property. They could ensure they keep their lovely view while living in the home and eventually, if need be, have the option to sell that property. Intriguing idea!
LOTS of Yard space – almost 1/2 an acre to be exact! My grandkids would be ecstatic! They love their new home but miss the big yard they used to have. So many newer homes have postage stamp yards, but there are a few with space to roam and I found one today, complete with a lovely older home, lots of square feet, and more! It was grand!
And speaking of yards, I also enjoyed one stop with a gorgeous yard that was in totally mint condition! Another sweet older home, it even had a covered deck in the back to enable you to enjoy your gorgeous garden even when that oh-so-bright-summer-sun comes out! 🙂
Lots of fun to visit, lots more fun to write about and remember, and lots of yummy goodies. I hope you enjoyed this first trip on my virtual real estate “broker's tour bus” in my neck of the woods. Have a grand day!
