Ready to Retire in Roseville CA?
Are you looking to retire in Roseville CA? Did you know there are FOUR lovely active senior retirement communities Roseville CA enjoys? Long time readers might, as I've shared about each of them here and there in my blog posts. I've even compared two of them – The Club at Westpark-Del Webb and Del Webb Sun City Roseville CA. Plus I've done a couple of virtual open houses with homes for sale in Sun City Roseville – including this virtual open house for a lovely home that is a delightful Regent floor plan with two masters that is still available. I've also written posts about the Silverado homes at Eskaton Village.
But now our fourth and the newest of these fun and active senior adult communities is growing beautifully and even starting to have resale homes available, not to mention new construction homes for sale in Roseville that are finished, sometimes have move-in ready options and occasionally can even be found on the MLS! That makes it a good time to share even more of the great things I've learned about each of them while showing them off to my real estate clients.
Lennar Heritage Solaire Roseville CA
Lennar Heritage Solaire in Roseville CA is a gated active senior retirement community full of beautiful homes, fun things to do, minimal yard maintenance, and more. These smart homes for seniors have the latest in technology to help you retire in Roseville CA and then run your home when you are at home AND and away, if you so choose. So if you're off on a cruise or heading out of state to visit long distance grandkids, think how handy that could be!
At this point in time, they have sold all their homes BUT they have more brand new homes available at their newest community in Roseville area – Lennar Heritage Placer Vineyards and you can read all about that community by clicking here.
And if you don't want to wait for them to finish building their brand new home, they often have one or two new construction homes available to move in right away. (And sometimes, they don't have them listed anywhere but check with me if you're interested as I may have an update or two on them – 916-768-0127)
One VERY IMPORTANT TIP – for these and ALL brand new construction homes in Roseville AND the surrounding area. If you decided to move to/in Roseville CA in one of these or another brand new home, you always want to have your own real estate agent to help guide you through the process and be watching out primarily for you. Yes, you can use the agents the builder provide. However they will be primarily looking out for their builder. You need someone looking out primarily for you. AND if you call or email me (916-768-0127 – KayeSwainRE@gmail.com ) to be your agent, I gift an upgraded home warranty to ALL my buyers at close of escrow. Normally that is for one year. But for brand new homes, it's generally FOUR YEARS!!! BUT the builders will only allow you to have an agent of your own IF you bring the agent with you to register the very first time you visit. 😊 So be sure to take me with you on that first visit.
Getting back to Heritage Solaire, Lennar built a lovely and active community center called the Sol Centre. Walking around outside, you will find a tennis court, pickleball courts, community gardens, a lovely Junior-Olympic-sized swimming pool with a patio area full of seating, BBQ area and picnic tables, a shade structure with an outdoor bar, an amphitheater and lawn area, a lounge with a fire table and the courtyard area, as well as bocce ball lanes.
Head into the Sol Centre and you'll discover plenty of fun activities going on (when there isn't a quarantine, although some things have already opened back up). Inside the center, which is approximately 5,900 square feet, you can enjoy a state of the art fitness center, the aerobics and exercise room, a massage room, club room, kitchen, and more. Some of the past clubs included: gardening, watching sports events with friends, playing cards, reading and sharing what you've read, eating healthy, scrapbooking, etc.
Speaking of pickleball – are you curious what it is? Here's one fun video about it – and if you'd like to see more, just click here for my whole playlist.
Enjoy these videos of their various floor plans…
The Club at Westpark-Del Webb
The homes in Del Webb's The Club at Westpark Roseville were built from about 2006-2014. It has around 704 homes on 1,483 acres. Â One of their great features is that what many homebuilders offered as upgrades like upgraded appliances, granite countertops, etc. were standard inclusions for The Club at Westpark, giving them all a very “high-end” appeal.
The homes are really lovely, offer mature landscaping that you might miss with a newer home, and your front yard lawn care is included in the HOA – and that includes mowing, weeding, trimming bushes, and fertilizing the lawns. Talk about an easy way to retire in Roseville CA!
The 10,000-square-foot recreational center has an outdoor swimming pool and spa, bocce ball courts, a barbecue area, and a fireplace terrace along with the fitness center that includes exercise equipment, an aerobics room, and 24-hour access. Inside you'll also enjoy the library, business center, lounge area, kitchen, and a card and billiards room. During the summers residents can enjoy fun outdoor concerts and they also enjoy holiday fun in the winter including crab feeds, New Year's celebrations, and more. etc.
Check out these fun videos I discovered from what I'm guessing were one of their summer shindigs on the patio by the pool. They definitely had me tapping my toes and singing along – especially for Sweet Caroline! 😉

Del Webb-Sun City Roseville CA
The largest of the retirement communities Roseville CA offers, and probably the most famous, is Del Webb's Sun City Roseville CA. Sun City's 3,110 homes were built from about 1989 – 2000. Many have been beautifully upgraded and look brand new. All have great floor plans and many offer lovely views of gorgeous greenbelts and wild life or one of the pristine golf courses. Definitely a lovely way to retire in Roseville CA.
Because it's so big, it can offer a few extra advantages. Like:
2 beautiful golf courses
- 1 9-hole golf course – Sierra Pines Golf Course
- 1 18-hole golf course – Timber Creek Golf Course
2 restaurants – that include the option for take out:
- The Timbers at the Lodge – 7050 Del Webb Blvd, Roseville, CA 95747 (916) 774-3838. For Take-out orders, please call: 916-774-3839. Generally this is a full service restaurant, with good reviews, and it is currently open and offering outside dining for the quarantine along with the take-out option.
- Sierra Pines at Sun City – 7600 Whistlestop Way, Roseville, CA 95747 – with comfort food, casual atmosphere, and great for kids and grandkids. Call first to see if open (due to the quarantine.) 916-774-7234
2 swimming pools – both are good sized!
- One is outside and open during the warm parts of the year.
- One is inside, open year round, heated, 25-meters and has a very high ceiling which is apparently excellent for helping to prevent issues from the chlorine. (As I learned when helping a real estate client 😉 )
The pool area offers aquacize classes, water polo, water exercises, fun times with grandkids during scheduled kid times, locker rooms, and more
The indoor Fitness Center includes a variety of exercise machines as well as consulting with trained fitness personnel. They also have a dance and aerobics studio.
Back outside, just past the pool area, you'll find bocce courts, lighted tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball, and more.
The Timber Creek Recreation Lodge is 52,000 square feet. It includes a sewing center, art studio, ceramics studio, computer center, a Wall Street Room, billiards room, library, and the lovely Timber Creek Ballroom where you can enjoy high quality musical entertainment, comedy, speakers, banquets, and other special events along with meetings like the Neighborhood Watch meetings I really enjoy.
If there is an interest in travel, residents can even experience both day-tours and extended-tours with the Activities Department.

For independent walkers like me – who don't golf and rarely join clubs (real estate and grandkids definitely keep me hopping – what keeps you busy? Leave a comment below or over at my new Facebook Group Page – Roseville Retirement Living and yes, you are officially invited to join) – there is still plenty to enjoy. The grounds are such a sweet delight. I never get tired of the scenery which includes their designated bird sanctuary as well as over 100 acres of nature preserves and open space. It's fun to meet new friends and say hi to old friends if any are out and about (sometimes I end up walking in the heat of the day – definitely fewer people out then! And ohhhh, the cute doggies walking with their owners. So adorable! And don't forget the lovely walking and biking trails on both sides of Sun City Roseville as you can easily link up to the City of Roseville walking trails and biking trails in both directions!
