Placer County 2020 Open House Status
Currently, in Placer County we are NOT allowed to hold traditional open houses. At this moment in time, subject to change with LITTLE or NO notice, we could conceivably have a tiny open house requiring appointments spread far apart. Here in Roseville California, we are allowed to do virtual open houses, virtual tours with tools like Matterport, and virtual video tours where the agent goes alone to videotape the house. But that is all. Now, you may have seen or heard of a traditional open house going on. I keep hearing rumors of that but haven't seen any myself. I hope there aren't any as CAR.org has cautioned that if people start “cheating” they might tighten down our restrictions even more – maybe even saying NO real estate allowed! We do NOT want that. My clients who are looking forward to closing their escrow this week REALLy do NOT want that NONE of my Roseville Sacramento area clients want that and you don't either!
Planning Ahead for A Safe 2020 Open House
That being said, now is the time to think about and prepare for an open house when the time comes. Weed and declutter your home and garage. If you are donating items, I understand that Salvation Army has drop-off trucks at several locations in Sacramento including Natomas. I'm planning on taking advantage of that in the next couple of weeks.
Check out the following tips and strategies to help you and your real estate agent (YES! I'd be honored to help you! 😉 )
This list of 2020 Open House Strategies should also include disposable gloves. For my clients, most of this would be provided by me. If you are using someone else, be sure they are as well! And we will all have to check state and local regulations daily (I kid you not! We have had new forms almost daily for the last couple of weeks, due to the continual changes!)
And in the meantime, I also provide my clients with professional photos, professional Matterport and video tours. Not to mention getting blogged about, great social media coverage, free upgraded home warranty, and MORE! All of these work GREAT in AND out of pandemic quarantines! 🙂
