August is traditionally a HOT summer month in Roseville and the surrounding Sacramento area!
This summer is definitely NO exception to that! It’s one of those summers that definitely has me wishing I had a bigger pool than the cute blue kiddy pool in my back yard! One like you might find in the following homes.
In June, we broke a heat record set in 1945! http://www.kcra.com/article/feeling-the-heat-sacramento-saw-record-high-temperatures/10039627
In July – it looks like the Sacramento area “is heading for a couple of unenviable weather records: an entire July of days with the high temperature reaching 90 degrees and the most 90-degree-or-hotter days in a row!” http://www.kcra.com/article/feeling-the-heat-sacramento-saw-record-high-temperatures/10039627
And August probably will have its own set of “dog days of summer.”
But there are plenty of fun things to do in our Roseville Sacramento area in the summer as well including a fave of mine that’s coming up on August 1, 2017 – National Night Out (NNO) 2017. National Night Out is an annual time when neighbors come out of their homes and enjoy some evening fun as they say hi to friends, make new friends, and let criminal element know that neighbors are watching out for neighbors – making for safer neighborhoods!
Here in Roseville, many of our neighborhood associations have fun times planned with a variety of ideas from kids games to water play, from $1 hot dog dinner deals to free ice cream, and so much more. Click here if you’d like more details.
Other area cities that plan to have one or more NNO celebrations include:
As a matter of fact, according to NATW.org (National Association of Town Watch [established 1981] which introduced the National Night Out program in 1984), here are SOME of the MANY cities just in our Northern California area who are planning on doing something(s) for National Night Out 2017:
Antelope, Auburn, Carmichael, Davis, Fair Oaks, Fairfield, Gold River, Granite Bay, Grass Valley, Lincoln, Marysville, Napa, Nevada City, Nevada County, Newcastle, North Highlands, Placer County, Placerville, Rancho Cordova, Rescue, Rio Linda, San Francisco, San Jose, Stockton, Tracy, Vacaville, Walnut Creek, West Sacramento, Wheatland, Woodland, Yuba City… Not to mention Southern California and the rest of the United States +++ 🙂
